PLEASE...start yesterday!!! Hey! Just a suggestion...the economy is NOT the greatest, help put people "in the mood" for heading to stores. Also, 10 months of the year is more than enough for music re-runs, so go for season-happy music. Oh Yeah! Please don't stop it when the clock hits 12:00 on the 26th. The Christmas Season is still alive then, too bad the stores start ripping apart their displays. Am waiting....!
11/05/2009 2:42AM
adam
now, start the christmas spirit already. i have on my own, so why can't everyone else.
11/05/2009 3:36AM
Jen
Now! Please!
11/05/2009 3:37AM
Jen
NOW! Can't wait!
11/05/2009 3:47AM
Jen
Play it now! Miss it desperately.
11/05/2009 4:10AM
Tiffany
I think you coud make everyone happy by starting the xmas music now just don't play it exclusivly ease people into in with a few an hour and work your way up. Also if you play some of the new great xmas songs along with the classics it will hold interestlonger.

Yesterday. Seriously, our kids have been waiting for Nov 1 and the start of All Christmas Music All the Time, since Oct 1. They're sincerely disappointed.
11/05/2009 4:29AM
Gina
Oh and I just saw that you're hoping to make "everyone in Southeastern Wisconsin happy". Good luck with that. I hope you realize that you'll never make everyone happy. If you find the perfect time for those that want Christmas music, you'll still havethe ones that are against Christmas altogether mad at you. :)

The day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas music but when you play it before Thanksgiving people forget about the importance of Thanksgiving. Don't skip over one holiday because you think another one is more important. Thanksgiving is all about being with family and being thankful for what we have and everyone can celebrate that. Christmas is going to be hard for some families this year and I think we should focus on what we do have and be thankful for that instead of worrying about what we don't have and how we will get a gift for everyone. Thanksgiving is important so wait until Thanksgiving is over please!
11/05/2009 4:45AM
Beth
We need a little Christmas, just this very minute. We need a little Christmas now!
11/05/2009 5:04AM
Dina
I would love to start hearing it now, makes work lunch more enjoyable, but like some have said play some w/other music for now (for them), then full schedule from Thanksgiving to Christmas. If the stores want us to start shopping, it sure helps to get in the spirit.
11/05/2009 5:05AM
ben bork
please start it now....been checking since October 31st, I only listen to your station for the christmas music each year. Please light it up!
11/05/2009 5:09AM
Sarah
Christmas music makes me happy. You should start playing it now!
11/05/2009 5:35AM
Jess
Please start playing Christmas music now. My daughter and I look forward to it.. For those who dont want to listen to it, thats what CD's are for...
11/05/2009 5:49AM
Heather
I can't believe so many people want to hear it already--PLEASE wait until after Thanksgiving! I hate that we go from Halloween to xmas right away. There may be alternatives to listen to, but I want to listen to Kidd and Elizabeth, and the music they playnow. Jess--they have Christmas music CDs too...
11/05/2009 6:10AM
Tina
Why haven't you started yet?? We were so excited on Nov. 1st and turned on your station first thing and were extremely disappointed... :-(
11/05/2009 6:16AM
Pam
I boycotted your station last year when you starting playing Christmas music Nov 1st. The radio stations in Milwaukee are limited and by playing Christmas music so early people who aren't readyintrested have nothing to listen to. Sprinkle it in maybe next week. Solid Christmas music.... a few days before. I like the top 40!
11/05/2009 6:27AM
Terri
OH NO! Please don't start it this early. I love Christmas music, BUT I listen to your station from 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday. It's way toooooo soon to start. I change stations when you start the all Christmas/all day long. And I miss you guys! Please wait until November 23rd. OK? That is still before Thanksgiving for those people that want to rush the season.
11/05/2009 6:30AM
Colby
the sooner the better!!
11/05/2009 6:34AM
Sara
I have been taunting my co-workers with the 24/7 christmas music for weeks! I think that if Santa is going to start sitting in the middle of the mall and if the newest version of "The Christmas Carol" is going to be in theaters this weekend, you guys can start playing Christmas music. Being the pioneers of starting Xmas too early, you are kind of letting us down :)
11/05/2009 6:34AM
Christine
NOW!!! I was so disappointed when I tuned in on Nov 1st and no Christmas music :( We're ready!!!
11/05/2009 7:01AM
Marla
Thanks for playing "games" with those of us who enjoy the Christmas music. My office now has tuned in to AOLradio, and will remain there for the season. You snooze, you lose.
11/05/2009 7:07AM
Sara
ASAP (: i love the christmas mix
11/05/2009 7:09AM
Mitch
Start it as soon as possible. Its starting to get real cold, why not have some christmas music to go with it
11/05/2009 7:23AM
Terri
It looks like the majority want it NOW. I agree. People need something to look forward to this year, it's been tough on many. Throughts of Christmas and the Holidays bring a sense of cheer and good times for most. If the stores can sell Holiday Decorations, seems like the right time to start the music!
11/05/2009 7:39AM
AMB
Start the Christmas music!!! If you guys aren't going to play Cristmas music, do you know when WRIT will be?
11/05/2009 7:39AM
Tim
Now please...I've been waiting since the first of the month!
11/05/2009 7:39AM
Aliisa
NOVEMBER 2ND!!!!! We were SO disappointed when we turned the radio on and there was no Christmas music. We don't listen to your station unless it's Christmas music, so please don't mix in other stuff. Those who want to hear other stuff can go else-where, or wait till after Christmas. C'mon, Christmas is only ONCE A YEAR!!!! Let's enjoy it while we can!!
11/05/2009 7:41AM
Lisa
Last year, didn't 99 start playing Christmas music right away in November? My girls dance in the nutcracker every year and begin preparing in late September. Once Halloween is over, we turn to your station to listen to Christmas music on the way to ballet. But it isn't there now.... hmmmm..... why?
11/05/2009 7:42AM
Andy
NOW!!!!
11/05/2009 7:44AM
Andy
Do you guys know when wRIT will start their xmas music?
11/05/2009 8:17AM
nicole
Christmas music is good right after Thanksgiving. If you want to be first, if you want to add to the holiday season early because shopping is early, okay. But please 2 extra weeks is plenty. Last year was overkill. I turned off 99 until Jan.
11/05/2009 8:36AM
Katie
NOW! I was so disappointed when you didn't switch over Halloween night this year. I listen WAY more when it's all Christmas than I do normally.
11/05/2009 8:49AM
Linda
I would not like to hear Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. And then I would like to hear it mixed in with regular tunes, otherwise I just switch stations until January.
11/05/2009 8:57AM
Becky
Play it now!!! I was hoping that I would hear it Nov. 1st. I need to get into the spirit ! Hearing it is a real energy boost for me and my family!
11/05/2009 8:59AM
Trevor
Please play it now!!!
11/05/2009 9:10AM
Drew
Well, I can't play your game any more....Seeing as i can't stand the other music you play, you guys are off of my radio til i check the website and see the Christmas music has started. Maybe WRIT will start before you guys....I think there is one other Milwaukee station for Christmas, too.....See ya!!!
11/05/2009 9:24AM
Dave
PLEASE PLAY IT ALREADY! It seems like a game of when it will start. Read the comments! Even channel 12 did the story because we're al wondering where are the bells!
11/05/2009 9:39AM
Laurie
I have been streaming this station at work for over 2 weeks now - but only in anticipation of Christmas music. Since last year you started on Halloween, I just assumed it would start the same time again. I've now had to resort to live365.com for my Christmas music instead.....
11/05/2009 9:46AM
Liz
Thank you for waiting to start playing Christmas music. The day after Thanksgiving is great and even then, not all Christmas music. After all you are the MIX, so mix it up. I listen to you everyday except when you play only Christmas music. So, thank you again for waiting.
11/05/2009 9:48AM
kathy
I was soo excited right before the 1st.All I have been talking about is three more days, two more days, then one more day. I woke up like a little kid on christmas turned on the radio. Nothing!!!!Like a lump of coal in my stocking. So I got bummed out and went back to bed.Seriously a true story.Jingo Bingo and the music some of favorite things. It brings peace and joy to the crazy season coming.
11/05/2009 10:12AM
Maggie
Please start now! I've been streaming a radio station from Cincinnati that went all Christmas a week ago... I'm a talk radio listener 10 months of the year, but look forward to switching over to wmyx every year on Nov 1st!
11/05/2009 10:17AM
Nate
I must say I was very dissapointed when I turned on the radio Nov. 1st and did not hear the Christmas Mix. It seems to be a very sensitive subject in Milwaukee every year, and I understand your having to do what is in the best interest of your business. What I don't understand are those that are so over-the-top against it! We're talking about a few extra weeks of Christams music. Its supposed to make you feel good, not angry! If the Christmas music gets you so upset, then I'm pretty sure WMYX is not your problem...
11/05/2009 10:19AM
Nate
P.S. 94.9 in Madison is currently playing all Christmas music.
11/05/2009 10:43AM
Katie
I just made a comment about this on my Facebook page. I love everything there is about Christmas, especially the music. My family thinks I'm crazy because as soon as the radio stations start to play Christmas music, that's all I will listen to until the holidays are over. I understand that not everyone is a "die-hard" Christmas music fan, so why not start it out gradually, mixing in Christmas music with the everyday playlist, until Thanksgiving and then go all Christmas after that. I think it's a good compromise for all!
11/05/2009 12:03PM
christine
please play those merry tunes soon! i was bummed when they weren't there november 1st. please put the christmas music on asap!
11/05/2009 12:30PM
Stacy
please please please play it now. im soooo in the christmas mood and on nov 1st i was waiting but nothing was on and i got pissed! who cares of what other people think that dont want the christmas songs to start....there is christmas stuff everywhere nowso why cant christmas songs come on too! :/ PLEASEEEE PUT THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC ON NOW!
11/05/2009 12:35PM
Jim
I agree with a lot of people. MIX it up, since you are the mix and play regular music AND christmas music, then as it gets closer to christmas, go full time. BUT please, please, please play some NEW christmas music. I look the classics, but there havebeen a lot of great albums put out in the last coupe of years that deserve some rotation :-)
11/05/2009 12:56PM
R
As much a I love Christmas music, I was shocked last year when your station began playing Christmas music the day after Halloween. It made me realize just how commericial the holiday has become. I think it's OK to start the Chrismas music a little before Thanskgiving, but please not yet, while Halloween is still a recent memory. And I do agree with Sarah, who said the Christmas music should continue several days after Christmas. It is so depressing to hear non-Christmas music the next day when the rest of us are still celebrating the season. Truthfully, that's when I turn off your station and switch to one of my many Chrismas CDs. One more thing - please continue to call it Christmas music. The word holiday is inaccurate and so overused!
11/05/2009 1:01PM
Heidi
Please play it now!!! I thought it would start on November 1st....but nothing. Stores are starting their christmas advertising....play the music!!! Please start now!!
11/05/2009 1:16PM
Chris
start now i have been waiting a longgg time for it. It can make a lot of peopple more happy even if they are in tough times because all christmas music is joyful
11/05/2009 1:17PM
Ingrid
Please start playing it now!! I stream the station at this time of year from Stockholm, Sweden, and I was extremely disappointed that there was no holiday music the 1st of November this year. It makes me so happy! Other people can listen to another station, right?
11/05/2009 2:28PM
jennifer
a lot of people are saying that they will NOT listen to your station because of the chistmas music" BAHHUMBUG scrooges".CHRISTMAS is only once a year.It is all about the kids and to see my sons face when " hey santa, hey santa" comes on makes me smile from ear to ear.if and when you find out can you please send me an e-mail?!!!!!!!!
11/05/2009 2:29PM
Jeff
I really would like you to start playing christmas music now. The Time Warner Cable Sounds of the Season music channel went to all christmas music on November 1st. And because I was looking for some christmas music to listen to at work I am listening toa station from Tulsa OK.
11/05/2009 3:05PM
emily
NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW WE ALL LOVE CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND I WANT IT NOW!
11/05/2009 3:40PM
Joey

11/05/2009 4:55PM
Jamie
Now, now, now! I have been checking the station everyday waiting for the Christmas music to start! I was hoping you would have already started!
11/05/2009 5:52PM
kathy
No. Please don't start Christmas music yet. It is just too much. After Thanksgiving is early enough.
11/05/2009 6:22PM
Connie
Please start NOW!
11/05/2009 6:37PM
Amanda
Please play Christmas music asap! :)
11/05/2009 6:37PM
Morgan
I think the Christmas music should start asap b/c with the economy the way it is, I think it will put people in a little bit more of the Christmas spirit and maybe help them realize that even when times are tough, the holidays are all about spending timew/ family!
11/05/2009 9:07PM
Nancy
Yeah, Christmas is only once a year but we get it crammed down our throats earlier and earlier each year. If you want to hear Christmas music this early, play CD's at home. Christmas music shouldn't start till Thanksgiving. I'm by no means a Scrooge; I have children in the house but gee whiz, get real, people. The holidays are WAY too commercial. Christmas is about Christ, not about Frosty the Snowman.
11/05/2009 9:41PM
Rod
At the earliest, after Thanksgiving. Love all of you people that want to start it ASAP, and want to skip over another great HOLIDAY. I do not listen to your station when you start it earlier than than thanksgiving. If you do, GO Lake FM.
11/05/2009 9:47PM
Rod
I agree with the comment about playing Christmas music after the 25th of December. Remember the twelves day of Christmas start on the 25th, not end. Just because I don't want to hear Christmas music before Thanksgiving doesn't mean that I don't like it. I love it, but one Holiday at a time.
11/06/2009 5:04AM
John
Now indeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11/06/2009 5:25AM
Kylie
I think about a week before thanksgiving would be appropriate however let it play a little bit into the new year or at least until new years. People start getting into the holiday mood around thanksgiving but are still in the mood on December 26th. Also throwing in a few christmas songs before going to 24/7 christmas would be nice so we get a little bit of both and gradually phase into and out of the holidays. Thank you for the wonderful mix.
11/06/2009 5:54AM
Judy
Please start playing the Christmas music now! We have been waiting for it since November 1st! It puts everyone in a good mood and we need that with the way the world is right now!
11/06/2009 6:17AM
Drew
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!??? "WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS......RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE....... WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS NOW!"
11/06/2009 6:25AM
julie
Not till Thanksgiving and NOT 24/7, otherwise by the time Christmas rolls around, I'm so sick of it. Your station is called the mix, so please mix it. No need to be continuous!
11/06/2009 6:35AM
Jen D
still no Christmas music? I am very disappointed!
11/06/2009 6:47AM
Laurie
The debate over this is crazy. The answer is obvious.....The people that do NOT want to hear Christmas music have dozens of other radio stations to listen to. However, those of us that DO want to hear Christmas music have absolutely no other radio options in Milwaukee. We are relying on you, WMYX, to fill that void!!!!
11/06/2009 6:49AM
Rod
If you start it November 1st like in the past. Virtually two whole months out of twelve, is just nauseating. So much for the Mix.
11/06/2009 7:16AM
AMB
Just checking in for my office....Back to WRIT and/or 94.5 til tomorrow....See ya!!
11/06/2009 7:21AM
Jessica
Please start playing Christmas music as soon as possible...it's my favorite part of this time of year...it really puts the Christmas spirit in me. I was disappointed not to hear it on November 1st.
11/06/2009 7:32AM
Trevor
As I write this I am Listneing to Charter "Sounds of the Seasons". I think its hilarious that the nay sayers are so against the christmas music. I dont likle jazz music so you know what i just dont turn on 106.9. Its not that hard. If you dont want to watch Nascar you dont put it on. Its really easy, nobody is forcing you to listen to 99.1 all christmas mix. Start playing the chriustmas music now, there is a ton people that want to hear it. The others who dont just put on another station and enjoy the holidays. Its a time for family and friends, the christmas music seems to put people in a good mood. And above all stop complaining about the music, if it was every station in milwaukee I would agree with you but its only one, change it if you do not want to hear it and grow up.
11/06/2009 7:37AM
VB
NOW!!!! I was looking for it last weekend and was very disappointed to not hear it. Please. Right away!
11/06/2009 8:14AM
Stacy
Was looking for the Christmas last weekend! I'm so ready to hear the Christmas music!!!
11/06/2009 10:16AM
craig
bring on the Christmas music
11/06/2009 10:56AM
Tina
My co-workers and I are extremely disappointed that the Christmas music isn't playing already on the Mix!!! We were looking forward to coming to work on November 2nd and hearing the sweet sounds of the Christmas season. Please start playing the music soon!!! We don't want to wait until Thanksgiving is over! LOVE THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!
11/06/2009 11:50AM
Sas
I agree with the person who said we should take it one holiday at a time. If you have Vetrens day music, I would love to hear some of that. If you have Thanksgiving music, I would love to hear that too. I also agree with the person who said that Christmas begins with Advent, and the season ends in January with Three Kings. So I say wait until after Thanksgiving to start, and continue to play it after Christmas Day.
11/06/2009 11:58AM
Cindy
The best things in life are worth waiting for, so lets wait until the Christmas Season is truly upon us.
11/06/2009 12:15PM
Carl
Really ready for it now! Kohls has there own system playing it now.... and so should YOU!
11/06/2009 12:38PM
Dan
Have one or two an hour starting now and then Thanksgiving evening go total Christmas music!
11/06/2009 1:08PM
sue
Please start it on Mon.Nov.9th,2009 Thanks
11/06/2009 2:42PM
ben bork
94.9 WOLX of Madison made the switch and is playing Christmas music all the time. They win!!!! They have my ears for the rest of the season. Not sure if you guys can get this in Milwaukee but if you can its playing NOW!
11/06/2009 2:51PM
Jean
For heaven's sake, quit talking about it and start playing it! I have been waiting...and waiting...and waiting!
11/06/2009 3:35PM
Rhonda
Please play it NOW! My daughter and I were sooooo disappointed November 1st! START NOW 24/7 PLEASE. We look forward to this all year.
11/06/2009 3:47PM
Chris
I think Christmas music should be playing by the downtown Christmas parade. If you're going to wait at least start it then
11/06/2009 4:31PM
Jerome
Any time NOW yesterday would have been better!!!!!!!
11/07/2009 3:22AM
carrie
Would LOVE to hear Christmas music played now and was disappointed when I was hyping it up to my kids how WMYX starts on Nov. 1st. We woke up that morning and were sad, but anxious to hear some Christmas music, but PLEASE rotate in MORE of a selection this year. EVERYONE and their brother has a Christmas album out! Thanks :) can't wait!
11/07/2009 6:21AM
Sarah
Where is the Christmas music? I have been waiting patiently. Please play it NOW!
11/07/2009 6:45AM
Larry
Doesn't matter when YOU start playing Christmas music because I started listening to WOLX Madison 94.9..They are all Christmas all the time now.....A REAL CHRISTMAS STATION
11/07/2009 9:44AM
Andy
There are people who need the Christmas music to start already! All the Scrooges can bah-hum-bug their way to another radio station!
11/07/2009 11:35AM
Jennifer
I enjoy the Christmas music like anyone else. However listening to jingle bells while taking my daughter trick or treating last year was too much. In my opinion, it should start at Thanksgiving and continue thru New Years day as THIS is the Holiday season when people are visiting.
11/07/2009 12:52PM
Joey
I think you should switch over as soon as possible due to the fact that santa is already at southridge, all the local stores are having their christmas sales already, and time warner cable channel 933 is already non-stop christmas music and as ben bork said 94.9 WOLX is too.
11/07/2009 1:42PM
scott chartier
Hello, I e-mailed last Sunday when there was no Christmas Music. To heck with those that don't like it. Why are we always catering to the FEW that it offends to be politically correct? I AM CORRECT!!! I wait all year for this. Start as soon as you receive this comment. Thankyou. God Bless. Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year and stop putting it off!
11/07/2009 1:53PM
scott chartier
94.9 WOLX? Hmmmmm never thought about that station. Maybe I should switch. C'mon, get on the train. I want to hear Christmas music when I get up tomorrow morning and have my coffee. Love YA!
11/07/2009 2:26PM
Alyssa
Play it now! I get so excited on Nov. 1st when hyou usually start it. I'm disappointed that it's not on yet. I vote Christmas Music NOW!
11/07/2009 3:32PM
Ryan
PLEASE START ASAP!!! You guys are the reason why I start getting in the Christmas spirit. Please I beg you start you Christmas music as soon as you can, who cares what those non-believers say that November is too early to start, it's never t early to start Christmas!
11/07/2009 9:01PM
Angela
Was so disappointed when I tuned in on the 31st ready to hear the Christmas tunes and...nothing. I love Christmas music and I think you should start right away. Besides, those who don't want to listen can turn it off. I think you've got enough fans that want it now.
11/07/2009 9:48PM
Marisa
NOW! Didn't it start earlier last year?
11/08/2009 4:14AM
Sarah
I think the Christmas music should play as soon as possible. I understand Oct 31 is a LITTLE soon, but now it's a little into Nov and all the stores already have most of their Christmas things out and i'm sure people would love to turn on some tunes and get those holiday spirits going. I know that I love listening to your station during this time of year because you are the only ones that really play a good mix of the songs. Well thanks, I hope it gets started soon. -Sarah Racine, WI
11/08/2009 7:41AM
Seville
Im thinking mid november is a good time to start, so theres a small buildup to Thanksgiving.
11/08/2009 8:08AM
Katie
Thanks for the info about 94.9 - I've made the switch to them on my computer at work during the day. I think the Myxx is going to miss out on a lot of listeners as people will find other places for Christmas music and then just stay there.
11/08/2009 9:23AM
Katey
Day after Thanksgiving! They way it used to be.... Let us enjoy the holiday (and turkey) and be thankful before we start in with Christmas.
11/08/2009 9:31AM
Sandy
Start the week of Thanksgiving but keep playing the music until New Year's! You always started to early in the past and ended to early.
11/08/2009 10:00AM
Bob SANTA
Play it now, have to say I was pretty disappointed when it wasn't on the air like it has been the past two years. Obviously the majority likes the idea of having Christmas music on early, and all these Scrooges obviously don't see the irony in having the music end either the day after or a few days after. It's a joke, and so are those Scrooges.
11/08/2009 12:46PM
Brandon
Please play the Christmas music now!!!:)
11/08/2009 1:32PM
Jenny
Please start playing Christmas music NOW!!! We could all use some holiday cheer. I am disappointed it hasn't started yet; I was hoping it would have begun on November 1st. I look forward to it every year, and I know a lot of other people do to! The sooner you start it, the better!
11/08/2009 5:40PM
Jeanette
Um, hello, I was so sad when I turned on the station to not here xmas music. Start it like 8 days ago already.
11/08/2009 6:37PM
Nicole
I think that it should start between this week and next week. Christmas music just makes me happy and puts me into the spirit. For the people that don't want to listen to Christmas music this early, just listen to your own music. Also, make sure you DO play Christmas music 24/7. The sense of Christmas spirit and happiness would not be the same if you went from a Christmas song to Taylor Swift or Kanye. It just would not work.
11/08/2009 7:47PM

Yes, We Need A Little Christmas, NOW! The Christmas Mix Rocks My Christmas Socks! It also made Wikipedia so it's popular and people love it... I made a few cassette tapes last year and have to settle for that I guess. Quit doing the Waffling thing like you know who and play it already!!!!!
11/08/2009 7:51PM
Dave
Stop Waffling like you know who! Just play it like Immediately. It's so popular it made Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia

Well, I agree, Nov. 1 could be a bit too early. However, now that the retail stores and tv are now advertising Christmas...PLEASE start playing the music. Actually, the REAL Christmas does not begin until Dec. 25th and continues 12 days from that point. BUT, I love Christmas music and considering what this country is going through right now, we could all use some uplifting music! GO FOR IT!

Hmmm ABOUT 160 POSTS... About 30 for waiting and 130 for playing xmas NOW!!! What part of this dont you guys understand?

Please start the Christmas Music SOON!!! My family was soooo disappointed on Nov 1st. I will keep listening, however please don't wait until after Thanksgiving. Those people who will quit listening aren't loyal listeners and need to take their anti-Christmas opinions elsewhere and not destroy the beauty and peace of Christmas for the rest of us. The World needs this!!!
11/09/2009 7:22AM
Jennifer
I also think you need to play Christmas at least until Jan 2nd (After New Years) as holiday parties continue that week as well. Thanks! Love it!!!
11/09/2009 7:27AM
Natalie
Please begin playing Christmas music now! So many of us are really looking forward to it and were so disappointed when it didn't start on November 1st. Thank you. We love you WMYX !!!

I am SO dissapointed they haven't started playing yet. My tree has been since the second week of October and I was anxiously waiting the Mix's start the music. The Mix has been KNOWN for starting early...that's part of the charm in the first place!

Thanks for sending out the Madison station Natalie! Now if only I could stream it into my car... :)
11/09/2009 8:03AM

I am, along with others, disappointed that the question even came up and that you aren't playing it already. If the information is true, you had very high ratings last year as soon as you started Christmas music. Please start playing it today.
11/09/2009 9:44AM
maggie
Start this week. I think you need more VARIETY in your christmas music selections but I want to hear it now!
11/09/2009 9:46AM

I agree that part of the charm of the MIX is that it's always started early. I'm decorating this week and am looking forward to hearing the music soon too. I do wish however you'd have a little more VARIETY in your christmas music rotation. START TODAY!

Please start now!!! You said last week it would be very soon. All of the malls are playing it and running Christmas sales, and waiting till now should take care of the 10% of Christmas Scrooges that have chimed in. I really hope it will be on tommorow after another disappointing morning today.

Does anyone from WMYX even bother to read the comments? Say Something, Say Anything, before it's too late and Thanksgiving is too late.

I was only visiting your site to see WHEN the Christmas music would start!!! LOL Why not NOW??? Please??? I love to tune in and hear the newer songs... I can always make up a playlist on my mp3 player of my "have it" tunes, but I need to hear some NEW STUFF!!! So, in other words... Now would be fine to start playing Christmas music. This is the only time of year that I turn on the myx day and night. I am very anxiously waiting the Christmas music. It helps people budget their time instead of being rushed by christmas. And even Scrooge came out at the box office with record numbers. It is time to start the Christmas music. Please.

This is the one holiday that everyone is just a little nicer, a few more smiles, and even more caring. Please start it now.

Another hugely disappointing morning. One of the things that make your station unique is the Christmas Mix. The majority has obviously spoken and the results are in, you have waited long enough, please start the Christmas music today!!!!!!!!!!!!
11/10/2009 5:16AM
Maggie
Keep tuning into the Mix every morning to check, and keep getting disappointed. When's the Christmas music starting??
11/10/2009 6:26AM

WHERE IS THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC! I actually think I am not going to listen to your station now. I have found stations on slacker radio, 94.9 (Madison) and charter tv. I looked forward to the Mix's christmas music every year. I am very uspet that a few scrooges out there ruin it for everyone. So start playing, this is your most active blog with 95% of the people saying they want it NOW!!!!
11/10/2009 6:28AM

Be nice if someone from the MIX would blog and at least give us some info!!!!!!!!

The dissapointing feeling I have every morning I check to see if the mix had changed over to XMAS music is beginning to get to me. Please start it now. It has been long enough. 99.1 could have had my ratings since November 1st, instead it is my Ipod of Xmas music and 94.9 out of Madison. I promise to stop with the Ipod and the other station if you cross over.

I say start now. I don't listen to your station very much but I listen all the time when you play Christmas music. I am ready now. At least start mixing some in with the regular music. And I consider Thanksgiving part of the Christmas season so starting after Thanksgiving is late to me!
11/10/2009 10:47AM

START IT NOW!!!!!
11/10/2009 11:21AM

just respond to all of these people and stop playing around. It is obvious that people are ready for the music by the looks of this blog. At least one response would be nice so we can stop being disappointed day after day. Waiting until the Christmas Parade is way to late if that is the thought.

I have been looking forward to the Christmas music for weeks and I have to say I was pretty let down that I haven't heard it yet. I think anytime now would be a great time to start playing it!

Dave
Twas the month before Christmas and all through the MYX, Not a Christmas song playing, not even a hint... Though the listeners all waited in glee anticipation, it seems we'll just have to switch to a new station. Now it's almost time to stuff the bus, with no holiday cheer, I think I'll just stay home and slam down a beer. I anxiously await for those magical words to appear, and starting to chime... All Christmas Music, All Of The Time... And to All A Good Night
11/11/2009 10:44AM

Last week, Kidd said that Christmas music was going to start "soon". Can someone please define "soon"? So disappointed that it's not on yet. :( PLEASE start playing Chritmas music TODAY!!

Really dissapointed seeing as the christmas music has not started and its already November 11th..Thanksgiving is coming up and I really would like to listen to christmas music for the long drive to see my family..Kind of a tradition..so i hope I wont be dissapointed.
11/11/2009 2:54PM
John
I am starting to get angry with you guys. It's all about the ratings and nothing about the Holiday Spirit. The more people talk about the fact they aren't playing it, the more they like it. Trying to make everyone happy with when they start??? Give me a break. Whatever keeps people talking about their station. "Kepp Listening for the start" No thanks, keep toying with your customers and they will leave, just like me. Can't wait until WOKY and 95.7 start their XMAS music. Adios 99.1, you have toyed with me long enough this year.
11/12/2009 10:27AM
bec
Kids asked why Christmas music wasn't on the MYX. How do you explain that? I don't want to even turn on the radio in the car anymore. Can't stand to hear the disappointment in their little voices and see it in their sad little eyes.
11/12/2009 5:18PM
Wayne
WOW this was painful i have been waiting like everybody else it only happens once a year at this time of year. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR; Christmas?
11/12/2009 6:03PM
Kari
The day after Thanksgiving. Last year, starting on Halloween, was ridiculous! If not the day after Thanksgiving, the Monday before. But no earlier!
11/12/2009 6:06PM
Kari
I think this group of comments is biased toward the people who want the Christmas music now. When Kidd asked the same question on Facebook, a huge majority wanted it to start after Thanksgiving.
11/13/2009 4:47AM
Hallie
Please start now! My co-workers and I have been waiting and waiting...
11/13/2009 5:40AM

ASAP. I think everyone could use a little help getting into the holiday spirit early so by the time Christmas comes they're ready.
11/13/2009 5:49AM
Terri
Why do people forget about Thanksgiving? It is the most stress free holiday we have. I know that retail has to start early, but Christmas music and Christmas special should not start until after Thanksgiving. That is what it was like growing up and made the Christmas season special. Also Christmas music should run until January 6th (Ephiphany). That is my 2 cents worth.
11/13/2009 9:45AM
Brittany
I do not know what the big deal is. We are already ending the 2nd week in November... START PLAYING XMAS MUSIC ALREADY!!! I do not listen to the radio at all during the rest of the year but come November 1st, 99.1 was all that I listened to... but very soon if it does not start playing I will not listen to you and go to the other radio stations that will play. Madison stations are already playing Christmas music... so lets get going here... otherwise you will loose me and my family as listeners...
11/13/2009 11:54AM
BK
You guys are being really stubborn and this is getting pathetic. If I have to wait any longer, you've lost me as a listener. Your "compromise" is only hurting yourselves and your ratings! YOUR fault!

SANTA says BK is a joke
HAHAHA, "this is getting pathetic" haha, a few hours after this joke writes this is gets turned on haha. Thanks guys!! HO HO HO

Some people say things like: "PLAY IT NOW! For those who don’t enjoy it, turn the channel. For those of us who do, what choice do we have? BRING ON THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!" OR "The answer is obvious…..The people that do NOT want to hear Christmas music have dozens of other radio stations to listen to." Do these commenters realize that this is a business? They don't want their normal "customers" to change the channel. And that's what many of them do. Most of the regular listeners choose to listen to this channel because it's a station that prides itself on the VARIETY of different songs/music. By focusing ONLY on Christmas music, it essentially eliminates the "variety" aspect that people are looking for. It's not a matter of being "Scrooge" like. There are plenty of people who like Christmas music, but don't like to listen to it for months. Do I like to eat steak for dinner? Yes. Would I get sick of eating steak for dinner if I had to eat it every day for over two months? Definitely! Obviously if the Christmas music helps the ratings, they will/should keep doing it. But I am curious what the ratings are AFTER the Christmas season. Many of the folks commenting here seem to ONLY listen during the Christmas music marathon and then seem to disappear once the station moves back to "normal" music. Again, this is not something a logical radio station would like.
11/14/2009 5:35AM
Little Elf
Play it all year long. I love the santas and ho ho ho. I love the crowded stores and the jingle bells. Christmas should be a year long holiday. We can all just buy stuff all year round and give cheap made in China junk to each other and keep the made in China tree up all year! More more more. Ho Ho Ho, reminds me of fun and being a little one. Oh I want it to be all year long. Please lets never stop. It is so much fun. I want to buy more stuff and get more stuff and feed myself and drink and get fat and stupid and lazy. Christmas is so mind numbing. I love it!!!
11/14/2009 5:52AM
MC
I listen to the morning show daily, and am often highlighted on the show. WMYX has the only morning show I can tolerate, and I have been so thankful that up until, WMYX hasn't been playing Christmas music. Christmas is a great time of year, but Christmas music is not something I can listen to all day long at work. Remember, the Mix is an "Adult Alternative / Top 40" station. The fact that they play Christmas music at all is a strange choice, so instead of all of you complaining, go out and get some Christmas CD's or load up an iPod with Christmas music. To the person who said, "I do not listen to the radio at all during the rest of the year but come November 1st, 99.1 was all that I listened to…," why should a radio station cater just to you? What about the people who actually listen to the station for the other 10+ months of the year? Should't the Mix cater to it's regular listeners rather than a select few?

RE: Santa Says BK is a Joke: You know what, your a joke. Santa loves Christmas you hater. I'm glad they switched over for people like Brittany and me. Scrooges should not be catered to in this time of giving. You are getting coal! Thanks MIX for listening to the people who matter MOST! :)
11/17/2009 3:10PM
SANTA says BK is a joke
Haha, I'm a "hater" because I thought you saying they weren't playing it was pathetic and that you wouldn't listen to them anymore BOOHOOO :( tear tear.....one listener? I love the Christmas music too, but whenever they put it on is when they decide to and I'm glad it is now too. I'm no Scrooge, I'm frickin' Santa, the Christmas lover of all Christmas lovers, Kris Kringle, Saint Nick, the big guy from the North Pole, whatever you want to call me. I shouldn't have called you a joke, just your impression that them not putting it on early for you was pathetic. So BK is not a joke, his statement was!!! Ho Ho Ho (and PS - just for saying Santa was getting coal, you get a golden turd for Christmas.)
11/17/2009 3:13PM

Most Ridiculous Man of the Year
Here's a late-comer for the Most Ridiculous Man of the Year award. A professional makeup artist in Manchester, England has reportedly spent about $150,000 for plastic surgery and more to look like his favorite reality TV star. The star? Kim Kardashian. He's had lip fillers, laser hair removal and eyebrows tatooed on. Take a look at the picture to see the results. And no, it is NOT Halloween. Sooo, someone actually dropped $150,000 on plastic surgery to look like Kim Kardashian! See for yourself: http://t.co/6eSkniAajM — Us Weekly (@usweekly) December 18, 2014 And he doesn't care what he looks like, according to The Sun, London's daily newspaper. "My look is all about the shock factor. I love all the attention and stares I get in the street. I welcome the hate — it just means more attention. And if anything, it just spurs me on to get more work done." Good money chasing bad, folks. Especially since the guy looks more like the Octomom than the NorthWestmom.

Please Define "Top"
Scratching my head just a little. US Magazine put out a list yesterday of the Top 14 Celebrity Instagram Photos of 2014.   Six of the 14 involve the Kardashians in some way - by that calculation, they're taking up 43% of the internet, which sounds right and wrong all at the same time. The rest of the list: Jessica Simpson in a bathing suit holding a golf club Macauley Culkin wearing a T-shirt with Ryan Gosling on it Jessa Duggar's wedding kiss Taylor Swift's 4th of July party Nick & Vanessa Lachey's pregnancy announcement Lauren Conrad's haircut Bethenny Frankel wearing her 4-year-old's Hello Kitty PJs The only one that really belongs - or at least makes some sense in being relevant - is the post Diem Brown's boyfriend put up after her passing, expressing his grief.     You have always been My Angel. And now you have your wings. We've been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other. Our plan to be together forever hasn't changed... it's just going to take a little longer now. And I'm going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don't worry mama, I'm not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. It's the Most Wonderful Prank of the Year
Jimmy Kimmel and his wife have a holiday tradition - well, sort of a tradition - with acting couple John Krasinski (from The Office) and Emily Blunt (most recently from Into The Woods). They live across the street from one another, and for Christmas, they play pranks on each other. This has been going on for a couple of years, and each year, the pranks get bigger and more out of control. Watch the clip to see what Jimmy did to them last year - the thing he thought would bring the prank-feud to a conclusion. And then watch to see watch Emily and John did to raise the bar considerably higher this year. Nice to have that kind of money to throw away, but it is sort of fun to watch.

"Governor, This Is Barack Obama..."
What a fun moment. Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick made his final appearance on Boston Public Radio yesterday, and got a very interesting phone call as part of his farewell. President Barack Obama called in, identifying himself as a former resident of Somerville, a suburb of Boston. The president spent some time in the state while a student at Harvard, and he's got a good relationship with the outgoing governor. So why not call in? Watch the video of the call. Seems legit to me.

I Really Really Really Really Really Really Want This!
Dear Santa: I know this is probably an impractical present, and that it will probably only survive one light dusting. But Santa, I really really really really really really really want one of these. A remote-control pickup with a snow plow attachment. I've been really really really really good this year too.                                                                                                          Signed,                                                                                                          Your Pal Mikey!     (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Boji.

Cancel The Interview, Please
Sony Pictures announced formally today that it will not now and maybe ever release the movie they'd scheduled for a Christmas debut, The Interview. The film, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco as some newsmen recruited by the CIA to assassinate the leader of North Korea, drew the ire of North Korea's current ruler, who said its release would be considered an act of war. More recently, someone hacked into Sony's servers, releasing sensitive information and threatening some drastic action if the film were released as planned. Some interesting folks are not happy at all. Like Donald Trump... #TrumpVlog #TheInterviewMovie A sad day for freedom of speech- http://t.co/eQDh4BkDHp — Donald J. A Box of Poo for You
You know Cards Against Humanity, right? The makers refer to it as "a party game for horrible people" that's "as despicable and awkward as you and your friends." On Black Friday, they made an interesting offer to folks on their website: a box of male bovine excrement for a mere $6. They used a more guttural expression that we really shouldn't be using here... Now, the folks at CAH report that they sold 30,000 units. 30,000 units of genuine bull crap, amounting to $180,000. I can only imagine how popular these will be at the office Yankee Swap this year. Now if you'll excuse me. My dog just went outside, and I'm pretty sure there's a gold mine waiting to be picked up on my lawn.

Wrapping Up a Holiday Tradition
Darlene Love came to fame with the 1960s classic, "He's a Rebel." But for close the three decades now, she's earned even more fame from her annual appearance on David Letterman's last show before Christmas to sing "Christmas" - aka "Baby Please Come Home." She'll sing it one last time tonight, on Letterman's final show-before-Christmas. This time next year, Stephen Colbert will be sitting in Letterman's seat. To get everyone in the mood, the folks at CBS put together a compilation of Darlene's appearances, blending them all together in one pretty spectacular rendition. Enjoy - and be sure to set your DVR for tonight's performance...

Shaking Off Hanukkah
Someone pointed out recently that there aren't any good Hanukkah songs out there. It seems that the only choice is Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song," and that's not really about the holiday, just about folks who might celebrate it. So along comes Six13, a Jewish a cappella group, and their parody of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." You'll have fun, learn a little bit about the holiday, and even how to play with a dreidel. And you might start bopping along with the tune. Win win!

Happy Holidays: Sheriff Santa
There's a guy in Missouri who gives away about $100,000 a year in $100 bills to random strangers. This holiday season, he got a little bit of help - from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department in Kansas City. The officers were handed a small pile of Benjamin Franklins and sent out on the street to help those who needed help. What a terrific, feel-good story...

Not everyone's ready for the holiday, right? Seems like it rushes up on you sometimes. Or maybe you're just not ready for it. Sometimes, you need a little push. Like Chris, who gets a visit and a sizeable nudge from a Jolly Old Elf. A fun short film to get you in the spirit...

Happy Birthday, Frankie
Pope Francis celebrated his birthday yesterday. Some folks took to Twitter to pass glad tidings, using #happybirthdayholyfather. It looks like being the pope doesn't put you above the typical birthday pranks the rest of us have to endure, like sharing photos from your early years. This one looks to be from 8th grade. What do you think?   Happy birthday Pope Francis! @Pontifex #happybirthdayholyfather pic.twitter.com/67KWJIFDJT — The Catholic Hipster (@churchhipster) December 17, 2013 Meanwhile, the pope celebrated his birthday the way you'd expect this down-to-earth guy to do it. He invited some homeless men and his household staff to sit and have breakfast with him after morning mass.   Pope Francis shared his birthday breakfast with homeless men and a dog. http://t.co/h93FMUumkG #HappyBirthdayHolyFather — Whats Up Mimi (@WhatsupMimi) December 18, 2013

Ellen Skunks Conan
Looks like the daytime talk shows have better budgets than their nighttime counterparts. Case in point: an audience member pointed out that Ellen Degeneres gives away phenomenal gifts to everyone in her audience. It's the way she rolls. Amazing things like personal cappucino machines, one's very own MRI unit (complete with Fabio, your MRI tech), and the not-even-out-yet iPhone 9. Conan had nothing but half-a-sleeve of gluten-free Fig Newtons in his car. Not to fear. Ellen to the rescue. Check out what she gives to every member of Conan's audience. I wonder if Conan gets to keep one...?

New Rule: Don't Let Mom Call Into Your Talk Show Appearance
How's this for a fun time? Brad and Dallas Woodhouse are what you'd call political pundits. They're also what you'd call brothers. Brad's a Democrat, and Dallas is a Republican. This week, they appeared on Washington Journal on C-Span to discuss their new book, "Woodhouse Divided," about bipartisanship and the political divide in the United States. I'm sure it was a fun conversation, but not one that would catch my attention. Until... ... the Woodhouse brothers' mother called in, unexpectedly and unplanned, and pretty much told the both of them to settle their differences so that Christmas at the family home would be peaceful. The clip is below, and it is priceless!

Seal It With a Slap!
Whoever thought Jimmy Fallon and Oprah Winfrey could play a married couple? Well they did - back in the 80s - on a soap opera called Midnight Meadows. It's becoming a running bit on The Tonight Show, and it involves Jimmy and his guest running back and forth into and out of the scenes. You almost wish they'd show those transitions. From the sound of the audience reaction, that's one of the best parts.

Can I Get a Translator, Please?
Christian Bale's newest film, Exodus: Gods & Kings, hasn't even been out for two weeks, and already, folks are talking about his next film. The trailer for Knight of Cups was released this week, and while the film's language is English - I understand all the words - I think I'm going to have to have an interpreter with me if I plan to sit and watch it. It's not that anyone's unintelligible - there's no Stallone/Schwarzenegger component to the movie - it's just that I have no idea what's going on. Sure, trailers are supposed to tease you and even titillate you, so you'll be interested in seeing the movie. This one looks like a bad acid trip caught on film. What do you think?

The Holidays Are Coming!
What's Up Moms is a great group of fun moms who poke fun at themselves and their lives. Earlier this week, we featured their parody of Taylor Swift's "Blank Spaces." Today, I stumbled on this "trailer" for The Holidays Are Coming, and while it's from last month, it's especially fitting now, with Christmas Eve just a week away. Enjoy - and know you are NOT alone!

Emojinized Science
Bill Nye the Science Guy always does what he can to make science understandable to the Average Joe. In this day and age, what better way to illustrate one's point - or, in this case, lesson - that with emoji. Everyone knows what emoji are - so why not put them to good use. So watch Professor Nye do Professor Darwin one better by using emoji to explain evolution. I'll bet you have a Smiley Face when it's done...

Blistering Hot Britney
According to Women's Health magazine, Britney Spears is in "the hottest shape of her life." That's why they put her on the cover of the magazine. And according to them, she did it all without a trainer. They point to her "insane abs" and suggest that you too can achieve them with "one simple move." I hate to be a cynic, but I'll bet it's the purchase of pretty good photo-editing software. Does that make me a bad person...?   Thank you so much @womenshealthmag for featuring me in your new issue! 😘 It's on stands this week! Christmas Services - Saturday Night Live-Style
I've been picking on Saturday Night Live a lot this season. It's like the whole show isn't living up to the standards set in the past. Sure, there's a lot of history in the show, and some phenomenal years when everything they touched was gold. This year, not so much. So, when they do crank out something that's pretty good, it's only fair to point it out. Here's a little something they did this weekend, and it hits home with a lot of casual Christians, You know, the kind who only go to church twice a year - once at Easter, and once at Christmas. Enjoy!

Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating Person of 2014
Prepare to scratch your heads. A woman you probably never heard of until September or so - Amal Alamuddin Clooney - has been named the Most Fascinating Person of 2014. Not that she's not interesting. But the most fascinating person on the planet? All because she married George Clooney. Which Barbara Walters refers to, with her gift for hyperbole, as one of the "greatest achievements in human history." Perhaps it's time for Barbara to hang up her microphone, huh?

Adorable Holiday Tearjerker?
This new ad by Apple has been getting a lot of play since it was released on Sunday. Over a million-and-a-half hits as I write this. It highlights the ability of Apple products - a Mac, an iPhone or an iPad - to "create thoughtful, emotional gifts and memories that transcend time." It's a granddaughter using computing power to create a duet with her grandmother's voice-over 45 rpm recording. Tearjerker? I'm not feeling it. Does that make me Grinchy? Honestly, I was more excited that the granddaughter had a turntable than anything else.

Yup, It's Genetic
Ever wonder where the Kardashian and Jenner kids get their flair for showoffmanship? Blame it all on Mama K. Proof positive is available for viewing on the website of Love magazine. They present an annual Advent calendar (completely missing the point that Advent is a particulary religious thing) that features 25 models doing strange things that have nothing to do with Christmas. Most of them - so far - are pretty young. Then there's Kris Jenner. Pushing 60. Dressing and acting like her 30-something kids, including flashing her cleavage to the camera, grabbing her lapels with the veiniest hands this side of the Cryptkeeper. Watch the video - if you dare. Be careful, though. The lyrics to the song that goes with the video are definitely NSFW.

The Sun May Not Come Out Tomorrow After All
The updated version of Annie hit theaters this past weekend, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it's a hard knock watch. Starring Jamie Foxx as the billionaire and Quvenzhane Wallis as the little orphan, the new Annie was pretty much eviscerated: This one paragraph says it all: "Putting aside the grating performances, the clumsy direction, the visual ugliness and the haphazard development of story, character and relationships, the movie is hobbled by its intrinsic unsuitability for contemporary retelling." Of course, you never know with movies like this. Critics can often cripple a film - or just because of their shear nastiness, encourage people to go and check it out for themselves. So what do you think? Is it worth popping for $12 a ticket, plus the investment in the soda and popcorn and candy, to make your own determination?

Taylor Swift - Most Parodied Artist of 2014?
What's Up Moms is a website "dedicated to providing fast-paced videos that are not only helpful, but also fun to watch!" Every once in a while, they'll produce a good parody of pop song. Like this one - their parody, all mom-related, of Taylor Swift's "Blank Spaces." Which could very make make Taylor the most-parodied musical artist of 2014. We'll have to wait for the official tally, of course.
