In celebration of AMERICAN IDOLâs 10th anniversary season, the No. 1 show on television is offering aspiring singers an additional opportunity to have their voices heard. 19 Entertainment, FremantleMedia North America and FOX have partnered with MySpace to revolutionize the showâs audition process. Beginning today through October 6, hopefuls between the ages of 15 and 28 (as of July 15, 2010) will have the opportunity to submit an audition video exclusively on MySpace at www.myspace.com/americanidol.
Entrants should demonstrate their stellar singing ability by performing one of the songs from the approved list a cappella. In celebration of the momentous 10th anniversary and in an effort to continue to find the best undiscovered talent in the nation, AMERICAN IDOL is expanding the eligibility age range for the first time ever to include hopefuls from 15 to 28 years old. (The previous minimum age requirement was 16.)

Last night, the Top 5 finalists took on the original Idol, Frank Sinatra. â Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Michael Lynche, and Siobhan Magnus â performed with the help of mentor Harry Connick Jr.
Adam Lambert will embark on his first headlining tour, an audio and visual spectacular, both theatrical and atmospheric, that will give his millions of fans something theyâll love to listen to and look at. âThe Glam Nation Tourâ kicks off June 4 in Wilkes Barre, PA. âI hope the audience will be able to escape for a few hours and fall into a world full of glam, drama and excitement,â Lambert says. âAnd I would love everyone to come away with a new appreciation for the music on my album.â
Opening for Adam on âThe Glam Nation Tourâ will be 25-year-old guitar goddess Orianthi and, on select shows fellow Season 8 âAmerican Idolâ finalist Allison Iraheta.
Orianthi has already performed with some of the biggest names in music: Carlos Santana, Carrie Underwood, Steve Vai, Michael Jackson and most recently Mary J Blige. She has also had incredible success on her own with the release of her debut album Believe (Geffen) last fall and first single âAccording To You.â Radio and fans were quick to embrace âAccording To You,â propelling it to the top of the charts where it was the No. 2 most played song in the country with digital sales of over one million.
At 18, Allison Iraheta has already begun to make her mark in the music industry. After coming in fourth on Season 8 of âAmerican Idol,â this vibrant red-haired rocker was signed to 19 Recordings/Jive Records, and released her debut album, Just Like You, this past December. Her first single, âFriday Iâll Be Over U,â quickly climbed the top 40 charts. Allison is currently gracing the cover of the May issue of Latina Magazine.

MILWAUKEE â April 27, 2010 â Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. officials are excited to announce the eleventh and final Marcus Amphitheater performance slated for Summerfest 2010. The American Idol Top Ten Finalists will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Friday, July 2 at 7:30PM.
The hit series empowers contestants and viewers to share their voices in deciding who will be America's next singing superstar. The judges have their say after every performance, but it's the viewing public that determines who will advance to the next round of competition and who will go home. Voting via telephone and text-messaging begins immediately after each performance show, and the results are announced during the following night's broadcast. Eventually the competition is narrowed down to two finalists who compete for a major recording contract and the American Idol title. This year the finalist competition airs May 26.

It has been determined that Chris Golightly is ineligible to continue in the competition. AMERICAN IDOL contestant Tim Urban has replaced Golightly as part of the Top 24.
