I have loved this song for a long time, it's called "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, but this version takes my love for it to a whole new level. You can listen to the original version by clicking here.
Bruno Mars will be in Milwaukee on Dec 7th at the Rave and he owns the music charts right now with his hit song "Just The Way You Are." His new album "DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS" is in heavy rotation at my house right now.
I would never really consider myself a fan of country music, but I do like a lot of the "crossover" stuff we play on The Mix, and this song from Sugarland seems like one of those songs that might end up being a hit in all music formats ! What do you think? Good luck getting it out of your head after the first listen.
Everyone fell in love with the anthem "Love Song" from Sara Bareilles a couple of years ago and I feel like this is going to be a big hit for her as well. It's called "King of Anything" and I'm sure it will be stuck in your head after hearing it just once. It is one on of my new favorite summer songs.
Well maybe not the best band ever, but I am not afraid to say best band in the past 20 years.  The band, Vampire Weekend. The reason, find me two albums from the same artist that you can listen to on repeat for two days straight and maybe then that group will top these guys. After their appearance last weekend on SNL I downloaded their latest album. I am a little late to the party on this one, they have been around for several years and are currently selling out show after show around the globe.   They will be at the Riverside Theater on March 23 and the show is sold out.  I am upset I didn't add them to my itunes library sooner, because I wish I had tickets to the show.  For $9.99 "Contra" is a must buy.
John Mayer has been a friend of the radio station for a long time and when I saw this picture in the hallway this morning, it reminded me that he used to be a really nice guy.  BTW what do you think he meant by "geat afternoon?"
Howard Stern is now talking about making the move from radio to TV as the judge who will replace Simon.  He joked around about it on his show today and said "Yeah, I would do the show for $100 million."  I think this would be BRILLIANT! (in the words of Simon Cowell)  He says everything everyone else wishes they could say, which is the same reason we love Simon.  Howard's contract with Sirius XM runs out at the end of the year.

Hey NFL people that put together the half-time entertainment show, it's 2010 and time to get over it.  Get over the fact that back in 2004 Janet Jackson showed America a piece of skin that broadcast to millions for a half of one second.  Ever since then you haven't had a "current" or "relevant" half-time show (Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Bruce Springsteen.)  Let's get with the times and move past Janet and Justin. Aren't you running out of old people yet?
I get on music kicks every few months, and I will only listen to that one thing over and over. For the past 6 months it has been all Lady Gaga all the time. But, recently that changed when a friend gave me the CD Wolfgang Amadeus by Phoenix. This is a French band that has been making music since the mid '90's. This is my first time being exposed to Phoenix and I can't stop listening to this album. I don't know about you, but I always judge a group by whether or not you can listen to the entire album from start to finish without wanting to skip a track. This is one of those albums. Have you heard of this band? What new music are you listening to right now?

I wasn't the only one celebrating my birthday last weekend. Adam Lambert spent his in Hollywood with Lindsey Lohan. I spent mine in Milwaukee with my friends, none of which are unemployed actresses with a drug problem.
Tons of stars came out yesterday to record a new version of "We Are the World" for Haiti. Pink, Jennifer Hudson and Celine Dion, just to name a few. The updated version will make it premier during the opening ceremonies of the winter Olympics.

Winner: Album of the Year Fearless by Taylor Swift
Why: My facebook page lit up last night with mixed feelings on Taylor winning.  Most people seemed like they are sick of her. Many people were blaming Kayne West for giving her all the attention in the first place.
"She's played in every middle class suburban home I know, not only by the kids but the Moms that like her lyrics. I am however sick of the fake oh my gosh I can't believe I won look."
Who should have won: Lady Gaga or Black Eyed Peas...their music will be played for generations to come. Taylor will be outdated and not cool in about 3 years.
Search the internet for Lady Gaga remix and you are sure to find thousands of people trying to sing "Poker Face" or "Just Dance." But this guy tops every single one of them. I predict right now that this song will be hit on the radio or he will get his own deal out of this. Sam Tsui you're a SUPER STAR!
What is up with the hair Rihanna? West Allis called and said they want that 1980's style back. :-) I still love you!
Will Rihanna be bringing a date to the grammy's:Â (from usmagazine.com)
"I'm going to the Grammys alone, as always!" she said "Even when I was in a relationship, I always have gone alone."
This may actually make you laugh and hate the Vikings more than you already do. Prince, yes THE PRINCE has written a song for his hometown team The Minnesota Vikings. It's called "Purple and Gold." I think it's kind of a funny song. Thoughts? Leave your comments.
I can't stop laughing...is that mean?  Heidi's new CD which debuted this week has sold less than 1,000 copies.
From US Weekly:
She told EW, "I put every dollar I have into this. I've spent over $1 million, almost $2 million, on this album. It's cost as much or more than a Britney Spears album because I wanted it to be that quality... The songs will make an impact in pop history."
Maybe this will send her the message she needs to hear "NOBODY cares about you."
