After repeated denials, Rep. Anthony Weiner finally came clean yesterday about sending dirty pictures of himself online.
The married New York Democrat confessed in a news conference that he did indeed tweet a photo of his underwear-clad crotch to a young woman in Seattle, and he also admitted to other inappropriate online exchanges with about six women over the past three years.
"This was me doing a dumb thing and doing it repeatedly and lying about it," the 46-year-old said. He said many of the exchanges happened before his marriage, but other happened more recently. Weiner insisted, though, that the relationships never went beyond online interactions. He also said he would not resign from his position, and would not be separating from his wife.
The scandal began more than a week ago when the crotch photo was made public, and escalated yesterday when the website, BigGovernment.com, posted photos reportedly from a second woman who said she received shirtless shots of the congressman.
After Weiner’s confession, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi immediately called for an ethics committee investigation into whether he broke House rules.
This begs the question, is texting considered cheating?
And according to Today's TMJ 4, one of the woman he was contacting was from Milwaukee. According to her Facebook page, Lisa Weiss, lives in Las Vegas, went to UWM and Nicolet High School.
