Re: Snuggle Time
Hey, Elizabeth. Make that two women in Milwaukee who side with you. Sorta. I completely agree that the bedroom is for sleeping, snuggling, and sex. Anything that interrupts those is a no-no. That said, maybe propose to DH that if he is not tired and is still willing to hold you while you drift off, he could quietly leave after an agreed upon amount of time to do what he needs to do to wind down and get ready to sleep. We do this with our kids. They get a certain amount of minutes of snuggling and then we're out. They feel loved and we get our own night time routine. You sound like smart people who care about each other. Figure this out. Chellie B

Goodbye, Dr. Huxtable... Hello, Mr. Hyde
It's one of the saddest falls from grace ever. Bill Cosby, one of the most respected entertainers of the 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond, is now one of the most reviled men on the planet. To date, 46 women have come forward, accusing the comedian of heinous acts. This week, New York magazine pictures 35 of them on the cover - along with an empty chair, for the next victim. A sad story all around.     So far, 46 women have come forward to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault, in some cases, according to a recently unsealed deposition, with the aid of quaaludes—a powerful sedative that can render a person functionally immobile. But these allegations are by no means new, with some stretching back decades—to a time when the culture of rape in America left victims little recourse but to suffer silently, and in shame. Today, the way we think and talk about rape has evolved, creating a safer space for survivors to feel empowered by speaking up and reclaiming their victimhood. And that’s led us here. Of the 46 women who have come forward to accuse Cosby, we spoke to 35 of them — “a sorrowful sisterhood” of women united by their dark experiences, steadfast in their resolve to remain silent no more. Hut One, Hut Two, Boo Boo BOO!
This is a pretty funny video. One of the coaches of the Ohio State University football team dressed up like one of the mannequins in the hallway at the training facility, and waited for unsuspecting players to pass. Then, he pounced! Most of the players jumped. One guy was pretty nonchalant about it. But the last guy not only jumped, he tumbled over. Very funny prank. Nicely played, Coach!

Shoop for Me, Bobbi Kristina
There's a video makiing the rounds in the wake of Bobbi Kristina Brown's passing on Sunday. It shows Bobbi Kristina on stage with her mom, Whitney Houston, when she was perhaps three or four years old. Whitney was in concert in Washington, DC. The year was 1997. The quality of the video's not great, but the video itself is amazing. It's good to see the two of them in much happier times.

Lime Juice & Sunshine Do NOT Mix
I've never heard about this medical condition before, but after extensive research - okay, I Googled it - it seems like there might be something to it. It's called phytophotodermatitis. Here's the clinical explanation: Phytophotodermatitis (PPD) is a cutaneous phototoxic inflammatory eruption resulting from contact with light-sensitizing botanical substances and long-wave ultraviolet (UV-A 320-380 nm) radiation. The eruption usually begins approximately 24 hours after exposure and peaks at 48-72 hours. The phototoxic result may be intensified by wet skin, sweating, and heat. Got that? According to other sources, it's caused by lime juice being dripped on your skin followed by your body's later exposure to sunshine. So, if you happen to be drinking a margarita at the beach, and you spill it on yourself, the next day, you could wind up with phytophotodermatitis. From all accounts, it looks and acts nasty - sort of like poison ivy, but caused by the unlikeliest of produce. There's a lesson to be learned here, people. From now on, margaritas in sippy cups!     This morning v. this afternoon. Progress! A photo posted by amarysuelife (@amarysuelife) on May 13, 2015 at 1:34pm PDT

Eyes Everywhere!
So a woman is sitting next to her hubby at a baseball game, (allegedly) sexting another man when a pair of young ladies over her shoulder figure out what's going on. It's the Braves versus the Dodgers on the field, but in the stands, it's Upright Citizens versus Lying Hoe. That's the characterization of the Upright Citizens, by the way, not mine. Their names are Brynn and Delana Hinson, and when they saw what was going on, they snapped some pix of the explicitexts. Not only that, they wrote a note to the hubby on the night's player roster that read: "Your wife is cheating on you. Look at the messages under Nancy! [It's] really a man named Mark Allen. There [are] pictures on my phone. [I]f she has deleted the messages... Sorry, just thought you should know!" That was Delana, and she even gave the guy her phone number. They say he called for the pix later on. Uh oh...   @LUV2BCH_ for the people saying this is old and we didn't do it .. If You Plan to Fly - Ever! - Do Not Watch This Video
I'm already a terrible flyer. When I do fly, I have to buy another ticket for my flying companion, Xanax. But even he couldn't have helped with this landing. A KLM pilot brought an airliner in for a wobbly landing at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport on Saturday, and the video has gone viral. Getting pushed from side to side by strong winds, it looks at one point that the plane might actually tip over. The touchdown was uneventful, but you couldn't pay me enough to be on the KLM clean-up crew for that particular flight...

RIP, Bobbi Kristina
Bobbi Kristina Brown's family reported that she passed away last night at the age of 22. The daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown was found unconscious and unresponsive in her bathtub six months ago. She never regained consciousness. The Houston family issued a statement: "Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months." Sad news of a life cut tragically short.

Don't Cry - I Dare You
Sometimes, you just have to give in and let yourself cry. The school chorus at PS22 on Staten Island sang a song in honor of a teacher battling breast cancer recently, and the video's gone viral. It's Martina McBride's "I'm Gonna Love You Through It." Try not to cry. You'll fail. I guarantee it. Such a touching and warm tribute.

Best Headline Ever?
This may be the best - and by best, I mean funniest - headline I've read in a while. It's an article from US Weekly. Headline: "Snoop Dogg Arrested in Sweden on Suspicion of Drugs" Suspicion? That's it? Suspicion? And the funniest part of the story - he apparently passed the pee-in-the-cup test. Yeah, me too. I'm shocked. Check out the story in US Weekly. There's an Instagram video there that Snoop posted about the incident. He's not happy, so it's Not Safe For Work!

Competing with the Kardashians?
Okay, we get it. Kylie and Kendall Jenner aren't really Kardashians, but they're part of the clan. They're usually facing stiff competition from their older half-siblings - Kim, Kourtney and Khloe. But now, competition from outside the family. Jessica Simpson posted a picture to Instagram, showing her wearing a bathing suit also worn on Instagram by Kylie and Kendall. Jessica's about twice as old as the kids, but she seems to be wearing it just as well. Let It Go in the Shower
You learn something new every day. Today, I learned two new things. (1) Gwyneth Paltrow runs a website called goop.com. It was "launched" from her kitchen in 2008. According to the website, "goop has become a place for GP to introduce some of the incredible experts who have mentored her throughout her life to a wider audience, and a place where readers can find suggestions about where to shop, eat, and stay from a trusted friend—not from an anonymous, crowd-sourced recommendation engine." (2) Gwyneth and goop recommend that women pee in the shower for their inner health. This from the woman who consciously uncoupled late last year. Directly from the site, so you know I'm not making it up: "Try peeing in the shower squatting down. When you squat to pee as opposed to sitting up straight on the toilet, you automatically engage your pelvic floor and it naturally stretches and tones. Because your urethra is pointed straight down in this position all you have to do is relax for urine to flow out easily—as opposed to sitting up straight and having to strain to empty your bladder." So what do you think, ladies? Can you do it? Will you do it? Here's a link to the whole article, in case you're interested...

They're Called "Wild" Animals for a Reason
I guess some people see warning signs and say, "Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean me." Here's a story that could have ended up with a much more horrible ending. A woman and her daughter were visiting Yellowstone National Park with her family when they spotted a bison. So she and her daughter decided to take a selfie with the bison behind them. Maybe the bison didn't like having his picture taken? So he came up behind the pair and tossed mom into the air. Luckily, she wasn't hurt too badly, but she did have to get treatment at a hospital. So please, take this is a warning. And if you're thinking, "Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean me," we'll probably be writing about you someday soon.   ABC US News | World News

Feeling Good About Saving a Killer
Scientists came to the rescue in a MacGyver sort of way last week to save a nine-year-old killer whale found stranded on some rocks on the coast of British Columbia. They think the orca got caught at low tide chasing a seal, and was unable to get back into the water. According to The Daily Mail: "The group designed what it called a 'MacGyver type water pump' to keep the animal from drowning, and ultimately were able to keep the nine-year-old mammal alive until high tide freed her that evening." Pretty amazing stuff. Here's the video of the whale swimming free...

Now Kim K's Fixing the Internet?
First, Kim Kardashian tried to break the internet. It didn't really happen. So now, she's trying to fix the internet. Well, the Twitter part of it anyway. She tweeted to the co-keeper of the Twittersphere, Jack Dorsey, the other day. I just emailed Twitter to see if they can add an edit feature so that when u misspell something u don't have to delete & repost Let's see... — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) July 25, 2015 And he tweeted her back, saying it was a great idea. "We're always looking at ways to make things faster and easier," he wrote. So she tweeted words of hope. Well, sort of... Thank you @Jack #FounderOfTwitterUnderstands !!! https://t.co/SzCM03xAH2 — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) July 25, 2015 But not everyone's happy about it. You've got to read Jack's Twitter feed. It's going a little nutty about the whole thing.

Come Back, Rob Lowe, Come Back!
Rob Lowe's out as the spokesperson for DirecTV. You remember the ads where the regular Rob Lowe had DirecTV and a variety of "other" split-screened Rob Lowes had cable. Those ads were so cheesy, they were starting to grow on me. So anyway, he's out. Gone. See ya later, Gator. And he's been replaced by... Drum roll, please. New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Let that sink in. And then watch his DirecTV commercial debut. Perhaps after that, you'll help organize the Bring Back Rob Lowe committee in your town?

"When Civilization Ends... It Ends Fast"
To date, the trailers for Fear the Walking Dead, the prequel to AMC's hit show, The Walking Dead, have been less than intriguing. Looks like the trailer the producers released at Comic-Con last week has got a little more meat to it. Okay, a lot more meat, and some of it human. I held off watching it until now, fully expecting more disappointment. My bad. Now I get it. To some degree, it's even more horrifying than The Walking Dead, since it tells the story of how the zombies came to be to begin with. I actually think I might have to tune in to the premiere now. What do you think?

Modern Technology Meets the Future
One of the most advanced personal cameras available to man today is the GoPro. People can strap it on anywhere and anything and capture some pretty interesting video points-of-view. So what would it be like if a Jedi warrior - someone like Obi Wan Kenobi - strapped one on and captured a day-in-the-life? Wonder no more, my friends. That moment has happened. Today has met the future, and it's pretty cool.

No Talking or Texting in the Theater
Seriously, is anything more annoying than someone talking or texting in the middle of a movie or a play. Last week, Broadway star Patti Lupone made news when she walked off stage and took away the phone of someone who was texting during a performance. Now, it's Kevin Bacon's turn, and he's upping the ante. Because in Kevin Bacon's world, talking and texting in a theater is a crime. And you could do time. Check out this PSA for Alamo Cinemas...

Pixels Panned Pre-Opening
Adam Sandler's new movie, Pixels, gets wide release tonight. The premise: video games from the 80s were launched into space to say hello to alien species. After 30 years, they're back to terrorize Earth. The only hope to save the planet: the gamers who conquered the video games 30 years ago. Here's the trailer...   As usual, film critics got to see the movie before the general public. The folks at BuzzFeed assembled the 11 best reviews - and by "best," I mean reviews that skewered the film and Adam Sandler. My favorite, from Josh Bell at Las Vegas Weekly: "Calling Pixels one of Sandler's better movies is like calling a particular strain of Ebola somewhat less horrifically painful; either way, it's not pleasant."

What Is This, A Fruit Salad Tree?
Here comes a wacky science story, everybody, from the Land of Botany. A professor at Syracuse University has created - with the help of a process called "chip grafting" - a tree capable of growing 40 different types of fruit. They're all stone fruits - in other words, fruits with pits - and the professor considers the trees works of art. Check out the video from National Geographic.

Now Standing In For a Plague of Locusts...
I thought it was Shark Week, but it's looking more like Bug Week. Yesterday, we talked about a 50-mile long swarm of grasshoppers and beetles that was showing up on weather radar. Today, we talk about a swarm of mayflies that made a knee-high insectile pile that closed down a bridge that connects Illinois and Iowa. Closed down a bridge. They had to get a public works crew on-scene with a snowplow to push the buggers off the bridge - and then they had to sand it down because they'd left a slippery mess. This is real, people. Check out the news story. And stock up on your Raid and Off products. The next swarm could be hitting your town!

An Executive Order We Can Get Behind!
President Barack Obama made his seventh - and final - appearance on The Daily Show this week. He spent about 20 minutes with Jon Stewart, and they talked about fun stuff and serious stuff as well. But right off the  bat, the President made an announcement that I think we, as a country, can stand behind, 100%. An executive order that Jon Stewart cannot leave The Daily Show. Call your representatives and senators, people!
