I have not started my Christmas shopping yet and usually wait on the Christmas decorations until the middle of November. I can't wait until the Christmas music on the radio starts though! I wish it would start now! That is what really starts to get meinto the holiday spirit. Please don't make us wait any longer- start the Christmas music now!

5 days ago would of been nice! I want the Christmas Mix now and I know I'm not alone! The 99.1 Facebook page is filled with people requesting Christmas music! I know your getting emails and phone calls too! The stores are decorated for Christmas, Kohls is playing Christmas music, the Salvation Army red kettles are out with bells ringing and I just bought some Christmas lights today to hopefully put up this weekend!! It's time for the Christmas Mix!

While I would love you to play Christmas Music now, I would just like to know a date so that we can look forward to it. Christmas Music on the radio is so much fun for a lot of people and everyone looks forward to Nov 1st because you usually swiched then. If that is not the case anymore, advertise another date and say this is when we will switch every year or around this time. Thanks and hopefully we will hear a date soon or Christmas Music.

I want to hear the Christmas music now. I usually listen to a different station but I have been checking this one constantly just waiting to hear Christmas. Its so relaxing and cheerful and as we all know we could use more of that this time of year. Hurry up and switch to the holiday stuff please.

I tuned in November 1st when I thought the Mix would be playing Christmas music. I was SO sad when I realized the Christmas tunes haven't started yet. However, I still love the Mix! Start ASAP though!!! On the flip side, I can understand why some wouldn't want it playing so early. People are focused on Thanksgiving right now. Even though I want the music on now... maybe waiting until the day after Thanksgiving would be the right time?
11/06/2010 6:40AM

Nah, I don't usually do my Christmas shopping until 2 weeks before the big day. Personally, I want to hear Christmas music on the Mix right now! But I know there are party poopers ;-) out there who don't want to hear it until after Thanksgiving. So I propose a compromise. How about starting the Christmas music November 14?
11/06/2010 4:48PM
Mike
WE NEED THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC NOW. AS SOON AS POSSABLE PLEASE PLAY IT. I went to target today it was all set up for Christmas AND the bell ringers are outside of the stores now!!!! PLEASE NOW!!!

I have to say Nov 1st is the right time its the official start to the Holiday seasons lately. I would love for it to start anytime I enjoy it so much and since you have different music than I do on CDs its always a pleasure to do the Major holiday cleaning while listening to the Christmas mix.

I'm so extremely happy to see other people want the Christmas music to start as badly as I do. I was all ready to go on Nov 1st and listen to that wonderful music only to have my heart broken. Come on, don't make me beg for it. Please start the Christmasmusic?

Can you please start playing Christmas music this week. You guys play the best music at Christmas and this anticipation is killing me!! I can't focus on anything because I keep thinking about this!!!
11/08/2010 6:07AM
Martin
I dont get it people what Christmas music and your not playing it. You disappoint me so much. I dont know what kind of idiot is your station manager? Stations over the country are playing but not in Milwaukee Wi cause 99.1 is being a scrooge. I say BAH HUMBUG to you. If any other Milw starts playing it I will be going to them and staying.

Cannot wait to hear the Christmas music. I am already halfway through my shopping and starting dragging my decorations out of storage to go up around Thanksgiving. Really puts me in a happy mood when I hear holiday music.
11/08/2010 12:07PM
Chris
Alright either play it now or tell us when you are going to play it this is like not announcing a day and time when the packer game is you will just have to flip through and find out yourself. You guys are just ignorant and obviously don't care about the fans of your radio station who have been asking when and requesting christmas music for the past week. When you don't respond to your fans that have been asking that says that you don't care even though we all know you do put up a date so we can all know when to tune in and start enjoying our holiday season at that time
11/08/2010 1:16PM
Bob
First of all. I will take a guess and say Christmas music will start on Nov 12th. Which around the same date it started last year. All of those people saying the station doesn't care about its listeners are being silly. They DO care. But, a radio station is also a business. With the new methods for radio ratings, stations need to be careful not to alienate existing users who are not ready for the format flip. I'm pretty sure the audience who isn't ready for christmas music is bigger than the audience who is. I for one LOVE Christmas music, but...it is WAY to early for that. I'd prefer they don't start it until Thanksgiving, but doubt they will wait that long..

Christmas music ASAP!! I would love to wake up tomorrow to christmas music! I have been in the christmas mood since september!!!! Don't let me down please and thank you!! :)

THANK YOU! haha I woke up to them previewing Christmas music! I guess i got what i asked for, but now how about some continuous Christmas music. :)

I agree with some. You know when your going to start playing it, just inform people so they don't have to worry about it. Enough with all this "Santa tells us when to start"! Just inform people! I'm ready but why wouldn't you start? 2 years ago the Mix was the highest rated station around the time they were playing Christmas music.
11/10/2010 7:17AM
Paul
The least you could do is let everyone know the day you are going to start. WMYX knows exactly what day and time but enjoys the attention. They were the highest rated station 2 years ago around the holidays because of Christmas music. Enough with the "it's up to Santa" nonsense.
11/10/2010 1:56PM
Tara
NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW! PLEASE!! This is just plain mean! I need the Christmas music! How can you not listen at ALL to your listeners!?
11/12/2010 8:19AM
Cal
If it was up to Santa or your listeners. The Christmas music would of started November 1st!! My guess is some Scrooge there is delaying the start of Christmas music! Last I checked, the Grinch and Scrooge lost out to Christmas!!

Whatever Happened to Sherlock Holmes?
Ian McKellen - Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings movies and Magneto from the X-Men movies - is setting his sights on a slightly less active character in his next film. In Mr. Holmes, he plays the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes in his golden years. Retired for 30 years and living quietly in the English countryside, Holmes gets distracted by an unsolved case, and is forced to remember why he retired three decades earlier. It looks very interesting - a Holmes we've never seen. Due out in theaters this summer... Check out the trailer.

Fur Flies Between Sharon & Kim K
Sharon Osbourne - mama to Kelly, wife to Ozzy, and host at The Talk - is not known for being quiet, shy and reclusive. She's also a well-known and vocal opponent of real fur. So she didn't pull any punches in a recent interview with Closer magazine where she called Kim Kardashian out. Not only for wearing fur, but for accessorizing her 20-month-old daughter - North West - in fur and other outfits that aren't appropriate for a toddler. On the subject of fur, it makes Sharon "physically sick" and she says that "wearing it is a very dated way of showing everyone how rich you are." She says that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have asked the K-Klan to stop wearing fur. And on the subject of little North, Sharon points out that she's not "an accessory - she shouldn't be wearing ugly couture clothes." Ouch. I wonder if Kim will fire back about Sharon's hair...

Crime Might Pay
So, do you remember the Hot Mugshot Guy? Jeremy Meeks was arrested in Stockton, California last June on weapons charges. The PD at the time called him “one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area.” His mugshot from that arrest went viral, and all of a sudden, in addition to being a felon, he was famous. Last month, he was handed a 27-month prison sentence, and he says he's using his time creatively, planning for a post-release career in modeling and acting. He says he's working with an agent, and he eats healthy too. "I do a lot of pushups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, and I stay very active." By "very active," he means running away from other inmates, most likely...

Jerry Seinfeld was hosting the first Los Angeles Fatherhood Lunch to Benefit Baby Buggy, a charity with which he's associated.  Two of his co-stars - Jason Alexander (George) and Michael Richards (Kramer) - were also on hand. Thor Wields Hammer of Humor
Chris Hemsworth will be hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday night, and yesterday, SNL released some promo clips featuring him and SNL cast member Kate McKinnon. At first, it was the classic girl-overwhelmed-by-hot-guy thing. But as the clips progressed, they got better, showing that Thor has a decent sense of humor. Check them out - and check out SNL this Saturday at 11:30 to see if Thor can wield the Hammer of Humor for 90 minutes.

Today, we're treated to a newly-released trailer for the film, giving us more of a glimpse into what's going on. Party Like Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr - RDJ, as he's now calling himself - has gone viral with a new video, and it's pretty cool. He's offering a fan and a guest the chance to spend some quality time with him in Hollywood, including attending the premiere of Avengers: Age of Ultron. All you have to do is visit Omaze.com and donate a minimum of $10 to Julia's House, a hospice that helps terminally ill children and their parents. It's a pretty amazing thing for RDJ to do...

Doing Duets with Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson made some news a week or so ago when she said no one wanted to sing duets with her. No one's quite sure why, but when she visited The Tonight Show this week, Jimmy Fallon stepped up and took Kelly's challenge. They did a medley of duets, including Sonny & Cher's "I Got You, Babe," The Human League's "Don't You Want Me," and Elton John & Kiki Dee's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." They saved the best for last though, with a great rendition of Lionel Richie and Diana Ross' "Endless Love." Check it out!

Mind If I Hitch a Ride?
A photographer in east London caught an amazing shot yesterday. A small weasel hopped onto the back of a green woodpecker. The woodpecker was on the ground, minding its own business, pecking away at some ants or other insects when the weasel decided to try to make a meal of the bird. The bird had other ideas, and took off with the weasel on its back. And the photographer was able to capture the moment in a photograph that's gone viral. The story and the incredible picture can be seen by clicking here for DailyMail.com.

The Grumpy Old Train That Nobody Likes

It's been around for a while, so it's no surprise that someone like Neil Patrick Harris is as much a Tankie as his kids are... Check out this Funny or Die offering as NPH matches wits - well, tries to, anyway - with some much younger Tankies. Toward the end, NPH gets to be a pretty cranky Tankie. We'll rate this one Funny!

Now This is Scary
Like skydiving isn't scary enough. Christopher Jones was at 12,000 feet, just out of his plane, when he was paralyzed by a seizure. His instructor realized he was in trouble and flew over to him, managing to pull the emergency chute. Jones woke up at 3,000 feet and was able to control his landing. So far, the video of his plunge and rescue has had over 5 million hits. Amazing. I don't think you'd ever catch me jumping out of a plane, but if you did, and this happened, you'd probably never catch me in an elevator again.

Feel Like Living Like the Walking Dead?
If you're a fan of The Walking Dead and you've got $680,000, then Grantville, Georgia could be just the spot for you. Not the whole town - just the downtown. And the downtown is famous for its use as a set in The Walking Dead. The town's economy used to depend on textiles. That industry went away years ago. These days, the industry is tourism, as in Walking Dead tourists. The nine buildings up for sale are commercial properties, so if you've got a flair for developing - and don't mind a bunch of zombies walking around from time to time - get on eBay and make your bid!

Beware the Stoner Rabbits!
An agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration appeared before Utah's Senate last week to speak against a proposed bill that would legalize marijuana. Specifically, he's afraid that allowing marijuana to be grown in the state would hurt the environment. Why? Because rabbits and other wildlife could cultivate a taste for marijuana. In fact, he said he witnessed such behavior, in a rabbit who'd developed a taste for the herb and lost his natural instinct to run. Good to know the government's out there protecting us from stoner rabbits... Listen to Agent Fairbanks' testimony here. Some of it is flat-out hilarious.

Stolen and "Maliciously Altered"
By now, you've probably seen the picture of Cindy Crawford that was all over the internet a week or so ago. It showed Cindy in a bra and panties, wearing a hat and some sort of stole. The story that went with the photo was that it showed Cindy in all her unretouched glory - a celebration of a woman embracing her real body. Turns out the photo was actually stolen and "maliciously altered," according to Cindy's attorneys. They are threatening to sue everyone who posted the picture if they don't take it down and apologize. For the record, Cindy's husband posted this picture to Instagram to show what she really looks like.     She got flowers and I got her. They Cut Meryl Streep?
Meryl Streep plays The Witch in Into the Woods, a movie that started its life as a Broadway musical written by the legendary Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim wrote a new song for the film - "She'll Be Back" - to be sung by Meryl's character. And she sang it, and it was in the movie, and then it wasn't. Director Rob Marshall says that it was for the good of the movie - that the movie was stronger without it. But not to worry. These days, nothing really gets thrown away, and the word is that the song will be included in the bonus features when the film gets its DVD release. Here's a little taste.

Dude! What's That White Stuff on the Ground?
Folks in Huntington Beach and other coastal communities in southern California had a little weather surprise yesterday. Pea-sized hail fell on the area, and for a while, coated the beaches and grassy areas with white stuff. A rare occasion, to be sure. It didn't stick around long - as you'll see from the video, it melted pretty quickly - which is certain to upset folks in the Northeast, who've been dealing with record amounts of unmeltedness this season. And as you'll see from the video, at least one enterprising Californian figured out a way to surf on it. Hail's up, dude!

Don't Believe It? Just Watch!
"Uptown Funk" is one of the hottest tunes in the country. It's one of those songs that gets your blood pumping and toes tapping. Until now. Thanks to Alex Bove and the Dancing Grandpas, "Uptown Funk" got slowed down - well, a little bit. It's called "Oldtown Cover," and everyone in the video is at least 65 years old... So some of the moves are way slower than the Bruno Mars version. Naturally.

Making the Most of Nothing
Steve Harvey has proved himself a master of making the most of some of the ridiculous moments on Family Feud. But this one from last month takes the cake. Simple question: "Other than fruit, name something you might choose by squeezing it first." But neither contestant would buzz in. Because neither one could think of an answer. And that left Steve to fill the gap while the show sort of reset itself. Kelly Quits the Cops
Kelly Osbourne went through with her threat to leave Fashion Police. When in Chicago...
On Sunday, thousands of people jumped into Chicago's Lake Michigan. It was time for the annual Polar Plunge, which raised close to $1 million for Special Olympics On hand were a few celebrities. Vince Vaughn, an area native, jumped in wearing a Chicago Blackhawks jersey. Lady Gaga showed up and took the plunge with her fiance, Taylor Kinney, one of the actors from Chicago Fire. Ironically, Gaga was covered pretty much head to toe, wearing more to take a dip in the lake than she wears to perform...     ❤️ feels so good to do things for a good cause like the Special Olympics.
