Summerfest officials are excited to announce the tenth headliner slated for Summerfest 2011.
Britney Spears will headline the Marcus Amphitheater on Saturday, July 9 at 7:00PM along with special guest, Nicki Minaj.
The show will be part of the highly anticipated “Femme Fatale” tour that comes in support of her most recent release Femme Fatale which includes the hit singles “Till the World Ends” and “Hold It Against Me”. Femme Fatale debuted at Number One on the Billboard 200, making Spears the only female artist ever to have six number one debut albums, and have seven albums debut in the top two spots. Britney Spears has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists in the history of contemporary music. Her hit list is extensive and includes singles like “…Baby One More Time”, “Oops!...I Did It Again”, “Toxic”, “Gimme More” and “Womanizer”. She is also recognized as the best-selling female artist of the first decade of the 21st century, as well as the fifth overall. In June 2010, Britney was ranked sixth on Forbes list of the 100 Most Powerful and Influential celebrities in the world.
Joining Spears on tour is hip hop recording artist, Nicki Minaj, who’s debut studio album, Pink Friday became a commercial success and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) a month after its release. Her single “Your Love” reached Number One on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart, making Minaj the first female artist to top the chart unaccompanied since 2002.
The ladies will also be joined by Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo, on the all-female lineup.

Create a Pest Management Calendar
Is your mailbox filling with next year's calendars? Put them to use managing pests in the garden.
No, I'm not talking about smashing insects with the rolled up calendar. Instead, use them to develop a pest-monitoring calendar for next year.
Take a few minutes to review this year's garden journal. Look for notes on any pest problems you encountered. Make a note to watch for these pests in next year's calendar. This helps with early detection; a key to successful control.
Consider adding notes about the weather and control measures you tried that were effective. Try using preventative eco-friendly measures like barriers and traps to prevent problems. Covering your cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower before the cabbageworm moths are active allows you to prevent damage.
Setting out shallow cans of stale beer will help you minimize feeding damage by slugs and snails during wet weather.
A bit more information: No garden journal? This is a good opportunity to create one that includes your growing successes, failures as well as pest problems. Use a spiral notebook, three-ring binder or computer calendar or spreadsheet. Just make it easy and fun. That way you are sure to keep recording, referencing and putting your gardening experiences to work.
